Swimming: part of life of all of us!

I often catch myself thinking about swimming through, sometimes, some unrealistic dimensions, in the sense that swimming is part of life of all of us. That everybody can swim, that we were born swimmers, as some little ducks and otters! We would all be safe in the water and around it, but would we devote ourselves to it this much, I’m not sure. Would we be curious about the vast and unknown blue world… I imagine: I imagine all schools having pools and that swimming is part of culture and education of all children! I imagine all schools having an experienced swimming teacher apart from the PE teacher… I imagine every parent being ready to invest in his/her child to learn how to swim. I imagin

Be Literate and Swim!

Swimming is like writing or reading to me, it’s an essential part of the way of life. If we were to look at the world around us from this angle, how many of us would actually be literate?Imagine if all children knew how to write, read and swim, it would be truly wonderful! I believe that many parents would also be able to have sweeter dreams. A couple of days ago my three-and-a-half-year-old son asked me: What can I do if I know how to swim?I wasn’t that surprised, as he has been in the water since he was four months old, but I carefully considered what kind of answer should I give him: For a start, you can swim the whole world. On the other hand, you can always have fun. When you learn all

Budi pismen i plivaj!

Does swimming teach us how to live?

Swimming – a lesson for children and parents If we teach our children that with no effort or work they will get a reward anyway, they will expect to get “medals” elsewhere, anytime in the future, even if they do not deserve them. I believe that children should be taught to swim and enjoy it, and that they are not less precious if they fail to win a medal. Of course, we should encourage them not to give up, to give their best, since by doing so they will grow much more confident, persistent, happier, not only in the pool. Children should have a goal and be motivated, even when it comes to swimming. The best swimmers win medals, and for the others there has to be something else to keep them mo

Swimming and skiing – for a quality life of children and their families! With all his skills and experience he was the boss in the world of swimming at the time of former SFRY, as I was still learning how to make my “first strokes” in the pool. He taught me all I know. Plivanje i skijanje - za kvalitetniji život dece i cele porodice! O plivanju, skoku, pokretu, o životu. I danas učim. Svoju viziju zdravog života, plivanja, trenažne tehnologije, društvenog aspekta razvoja fizičke kulture i visokog obrazovanja, utkao je u današnji Fakultet za sport i turizam - Tims, Novi Sad (Srbija). Njegovo ime je prof. dr Zlatko Ahmetović, osnivač Tims-a, redovni profesor, Emeritus.
